Welcome
The Lexington Shambhala Meditation Center is part of an international community of urban meditation and rural retreat centers, founded by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and now led by the Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. The Shambhala Buddhist tradition combines teachings of the Kagyu and Nyingma lineages of Tibetan Buddhism with the Shambhala principles of living an uplifted life, fully engaged with the world.

Located at 315 W. Maxwell St. in downtown Lexington, Kentucky, our center offers meditation instruction every Saturday morning at Cafe Shambhala, free of charge. We also offer a core curriculum of Shambhala Buddhist teachings, as well as training in advanced contemplative practices. We invite you to explore our diverse programs, which are designed to help individuals of all traditions discover their inherent sanity, gentleness and humor.
